Roy "Buddy" M. Bracey II (71), of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on January 11, 2023
Roy fondly known as Bud was born to Roy and Shirley Barcey on March 12, 1951, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from Stranahan High School and obtained an Associate’s Degree from Broward Community College. He retired after a career with The City of Fort Lauderdale’s Wastewater Management Department. Fish and boating were always his favorite hobbies. During retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife at their home, cooking for family and friends on the grill, sports cars, motorcycling, volunteering with the Time Bandits local car club, and relaxing at the beach.
Bud is survived by his wife Annamarie Bracey, his two children, Jennifer Townsley (Sean) and Cheryl Bracey, and Jennifer’s daughters McKenna and Aneliese. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Bracey, brother Robert Bracey (Mary), and their children Patrick and Christina. Bud was predeceased by his father, Roy Bracey II.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife and muse, Noreen Tama; son, Andersson Amato; stepson, Joseph Bellegarde of Silver Spring, Maryland; stepdaughter, Lauren Bellegarde of Spring, Texas; mother, Lillian Joyce Browne Amato of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; father, Fred T. Amato, Jr. and his wife, M.J of St. Augustine, Florida; brother, Fred T. Amato, III and his wife, Lynda of Pompano Beach, Florida; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, dear friends, and neighbors.
Bruce will be greatly missed by all. His family looks forward to celebrating his remarkable life in the coming days and will schedule a gathering as soon as permitted. Memorial donations may be made to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
