Kenneth R. Kimble, Jr.
1951 to 2026

Ken joined the Navy in 1971 and served one year of active duty, followed by 8 years in the US Naval Reserve. In 1972, Ken married his first wife, Nancy, and together they had two children, Kenneth III and Malory. Also in 1972, Ken joined the UA Local 725 as a pipefitter, where he worked on many local projects. In 1986, Ken started his career with Dade County Public Schools, holding several positions until his retirement in 2017. In 2004, Ken and his second wife, Marie, purchased their first home together, where they lived with her children, Julian and Amanda. They were married in 2014 and remained together until Marie’s passing in 2024.
Anyone who met Ken would agree that he was a lovable guy and a great friend. Ken was as dependable as they came and a loyal supporter of the people he cared about. He was the best at celebrating your accomplishments right alongside you, and making sure you knew how proud he was. He loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events to cheer them on. “We love you, and we’re proud of you!”
Ken loved to see new places and especially enjoyed visiting the mountains or taking in a beach sunrise. Although he experienced some amazing locations, he recently said that no matter where he went, his favorite place to go was always home. A gentle soul, Ken had a soft spot for all living things, especially animals. He was an avid supporter of the Humane Society of Broward County, where he volunteered as their shelter mascot at events for several years and also supported their fundraising efforts throughout the year.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Sr. and Dorothy, his brother Mark, and his second wife, Marie. Ken will be missed every day by his children, Kenneth (Chrissie) Kimble III, Malory (Brian McMorris) Kimble, Julian Rodriguez, and Amanda Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his beloved sister Cherie (Pat) Fitzgibbon and her family, his first wife, Nancy Kimble, his cherished grandchildren Delaney, Lucy, and Finn Kimble, Kayla and Terra McMorris, many cousins and extended family, and countless friends he made along the way.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23 at the Humane Society of Broward County. Ken would be honored if you are able to bring a donation for the shelter animals! We also invite everyone to join us for a sunrise together on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Saturday, October 24. We will meet at 6:45 a.m. at the north end of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park. Park in the main beach parking lot across from Bahia Mar and walk to the sand just north of the basketball courts.
Ken’s family is grateful for your love and support. If you would like to honor Ken and his love of animals, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, 954-266-6835, or online at https://humanebroward.com/donate/
